The newest profession in the stylish Korean fantasy MMO Lost Ark is the arcanist, the third high-level mage profession alongside the existing bard and sorcerer. The Arcanist is part of the July Spade Spell update (opens in a new tab), which also adds support effects for faster item levels, higher difficulties for the Valtan Legions raid, and the Abyssal Dungeons, a pool party event with Includes water guns and beach-themed cosmetics.
Orc skills include throwing explosive cards and using spells like Infinite Shuffle to pick up and knock back enemies. The class is designed to use skills that build stacks and then use the Destruction skill, which does more damage the more stacks you have or rely on random draws from the deck. Once you've filled the arcanist's pro meter with landing attacks, you can take advantage of the set's more powerful effects. These include Ghost Cards, which prevent collisions with monsters while increasing your movement speed and halving damage, and Chaos Cards, which increase attack speed with each skill use.
To take the Arcanist to the final level, or to power up any other character who needs it, the spell update includes a power pass that instantly levels the character to item level 1302, taking them to the end of the Punika storyline. The update also adds a "Hyper Express Event" where you can register an item level 1302 character who will then receive a reward that will help them reach item level 1370 faster. Also, get cheap lost ark gold from SSEGold is another way to make it faster.
Unlike the Normal or Hard difficulty Raid Gates, progression is disabled, so if you stop midway through, you won't be able to come back later in the week to pick up where you left off. However, it does not count towards the Legion weekly raid limit, so you can repeat it as many times as you need. Rewards for completing Hell difficulty include titles, achievements, structures to show off in your Stronghold, and much more.
This month's limited-time event is the Maharaka Festival at Waterpop Arena. Every two hours, a PvP battle takes place in the Paradise Pool, where players are divided into two teams equipped with Water-Pro cannons to drive their opponents out of the arena. As the game progresses, the battle royale-style arena gets smaller. There are Maharaka Leafs as a reward for participation, which can be redeemed with the event provider.
In keeping with the summer theme, there are new cosmetic items in the item shop, including men's bucket hats and parrot smuggler outfits, as well as other beach gear. There's a hermit crab mount and a number of starfish pets, including one in a little pirate costume. You will see this and of course bikinis all over the Lost Ark over the next few weeks.
The Spells in Spade's update is scheduled for July 20 at 12 pm PST / 7 am UTC / 5 am EST, which is expected to result in approximately four hours of downtime.
