Next week, NASA will release the first official full-color scientific images and spectral data from the James Webb Space Telescope, giving us a new perspective on the depths of the universe.
Today NASA has released an exciting “trailer photo” of an advance engineering test, and this is just the tip of the iceberg, this picture shows just how amazing the upcoming scientific images and data are.
After more than 20 years of hard work and tens of billions of dollars in investment, it’s time for the Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to pay off. At 10:30 a.m. EDT on July 12, the Webb Telescope will release the first official full-color scientific images and spectral data to explore the never-before-seen origin of the universe.
This week, NASA provided the first engineering test image of the Webb telescope. While the edges are a bit jagged, it’s one of the deepest cosmic infrared images ever taken, and the detailed structures in these faint galaxies are clearly visible, raising expectations for next week’s official images.
