Tesla delays Cybertruck production to early 2023

According to Reuters, Tesla aims to start the first production of the highly anticipated Cybertruck by the end of the first quarter of 2023 and delay its production start plan until the end of this year.

At the end of 2019, Elon Musk surprised everyone with the presentation of Tesla’s electric vehicle Cybertruck. Alongside striking futuristic curves cast in a super-strong stainless steel alloy (the same one found in SpaceX’s Starship rocket), the vehicle promised a range of 800 kilometers on a single charge.

Production was supposed to Start End of 2021

The latest news was that the production start date, originally set for the end of 2021, is scheduled for 2022.

But unsurprisingly, it was delayed again. While Tesla declined to give an exact timeframe for the time being, an anonymous source told Reuters that the brand will begin production of a limited number of Cybertrucks in the first quarter of 2023, followed by an increase in production.

For now, Tesla is expected to manufacture the Cybertruck at its factory in Texas and begin production of Model Y cars earlier this year. However, the facilities are not yet fully ready.
