China’s Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) may have detected alien signals

Since it went into operation in 2020, the FAST telescope, nicknamed “China Sky Eye,” has been searching for possible signals from extraterrestrial civilizations.

Recently, Chinese media reported that Sky Eye may have detected several special narrow-band electromagnetic signals from extraterrestrial technology, and further investigation is under way to determine whether it is just some kind of radio interference.

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) is the world’s largest single-aperture radio telescope.

In 2018, it installed back-end equipment dedicated to searching for extraterrestrial civilizations, mainly from a large number of Narrow-band candidate signals are screened out of electromagnetic signals, excluding human-made signals from celestial bodies and the earth; on January 11, 2020, FAST was officially put into operation after passing the inspection.

On June 14, 2022, China’s “Global Times” tweeted that the FAST telescope detected several special signals suspected of coming from alien technology, but it has not been confirmed.

Another report said that in 2020, the team found two sets of suspicious signals when sifting through the 2019 observation data. This year, they found another narrow-band signal on the way to observe exoplanets. The team is further investigating, but these There is also a high possibility that the suspicious signal comes from some kind of radio interference, and it takes time to confirm it.

With the recent decision of NASA to start an official research of alien civilization, these news are getting more interesting…
