Russia’s space agency Roscosmos said on Monday that the American astronaut will return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) later this month, despite tensions between the two countries.
The Russian space agency said that a NASA astronaut, Mark Vande Hei, will return to Earth as scheduled on March 30, along with cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and the Russian Soyuz space capsule Pyotr Dubrov. “Roscosmos has never given its partners reason to doubt its credibility,” the statement said.
The agency also adds that the security and operation of the ISP has always been its top priority. Roscosmos made this statement after the media reports that there may be problems in the return of the American astronaut due to the sanctions imposed by the USA on Russia due to the Ukraine crisis.
