Apple acknowledged last year that some released iPhone 12s had no sound from headphones issue, so they launched a repair program for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro “no sound” issue.
A year later, Apple announced that any affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro will be covered by the sound issue-related warranty for up to 3 years from the phone’s launch date.
Noting that the relevant maintenance plan was launched in August last year, Apple was providing free maintenance to the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, which was then sold within two years.
Now the maintenance period has been extended by one year and is universal. This plan covers affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro devices. If the user’s iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not make a sound when making or receiving a call, they may be eligible for repair services. iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are not covered by this plan.
