During a conference call devoted to Tesla’s financial results, Elon Musk said that Tesla will not release a new model in 2022 and will focus on the development of the humanoid robot project.
Prototype expected later this year
Last summer, Elon Musk created a sensation by revealing a strange humanoid robot project. Today, this project is gaining momentum and a prototype is expected this year. As a reminder, this Tesla concept robot will look like a human, approximately 1.75 m tall and weighing 56 kg.
Robot can be used in Tesla’s Giga factories
Elon Musk wants to be ambitious for this future robot. This robot can be used to perform tedious and sometimes even dangerous, repetitive tasks that are often repetitive without fail.
Ideally, they can do legwork as well as assist with hauling heavy loads or screwdriving. But all of this still goes no further than science fiction. The Optimus, which will soon come to light, will likely be used on Tesla’s production lines to store or assemble certain parts.
