Product name: Galaxy M52 5G
Brand: Samsung
Average Price: $260

The Galaxy M52 5G was one of the best Samsung M-series phones last year, and just six months later, Samsung has already launched its successor. However, the Galaxy M53 5G isn’t exactly a real upgrade when it comes to specs. While it replaces the M52’s 64MP main camera with a 108MP camera and adds a fourth rear camera, it features the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, which isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon 778G chipset.

The Galaxy M52 5G is similar to the current mid-range hit, the A52s 5GTechnically and priced very well, but offers a slightly larger display and a battery with 500 mAh more capacity. Just like the A-series sister model, you can expect a crisp OLED panel that displays content particularly smoothly thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate.

The upper mid-range processor Snapdragon 778G provides enough power to conjure up even more demanding apps and 3D games smoothly on the display. In addition, there is support for 5G mobile communications and current wireless interfaces such as Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 6. The 5,000 mAh battery lasts well even after a day of intensive cell phone use. If you occasionally reach for your smartphone, it’s enough for two days.

We categorized every aspect of the phone and gave a star rating based on general price/ performance of the phone in this review.

Lets dive in the details of Samsung Galaxy M52 5G together.

Galaxy M52 5G: Design

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G: Our Rating for Design = 7.4/10

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is different from the Galaxy A52 however some characteristic features remain such as the entire plastic body and the photographic compartment very similar in design. What mainly changes is the rear finish, which is glossy instead of matte, and the dimensions, which are slightly larger due to an equally larger screen.

In fact, the display is 6.7 inches , instead of 6.5, but always of the highest quality: Super Amoled, FullHD + with refresh rate up to 120 Hz . As usual, there is nothing to criticize in this regard and the multimedia aspect is also supported by a stereo effect audio using the lower main speaker and the ear speaker.

The most interesting thing, however, is the weight of this smartphone: despite having a larger battery than A52, the weight is more contained and is around 173 grams .

Galaxy M52 5G: Performance

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G: Our Rating for Performance = 7.4/10

Under the case, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It works One UI 3.1 is based on Android 11.

During our extensive use, we found the phone’s performance to be exceptionally good as it has no lag when switching apps or multitasking and performed very well when playing medium-to-heavy games.

We noticed that the high refresh rate also made our gaming experience smoother and more interesting.

Galaxy M52 5G: Screen & Display

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G: Our Rating for Screen = 8.6/10

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED + FHD + display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and has a 20: 9 aspect ratio.

Compared to 60Hz, 120Hz offers noticeably smoother visual effects. The so-called 120Hz refresh rate means that the screen can present 120 frames per second.

While using the smartphone in direct sunlight, we did not encounter any problems and the color reproduction remained intact even when we viewed the screen from different angles.

Galaxy M52 5G: Camera

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G: Our Rating for Camera = 8.1/10

Speaking of the camera, the rear packs a triple camera setup with a 64MP main camera with f / 1.8 aperture, a 12MP camera with f / 2.2 aperture, and a 5MP camera with f / 2.2 aperture. 2.4.

On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera with an f / 2.2 aperture for selfie shots and video calling.

We found that the images clicked by the rear sensor were nice and clear in direct sunlight or bright light and low light conditions. The front camera will meet your different selfie needs, supporting various modes.

Galaxy M52 5G: Battery

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G: Our Rating for Battery = 7.4/10

The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

The battery capacity of the smartphone is more than decent as the phone lasted about a day on a full charge. We used the smartphone to take pictures, watch movies, check emails, play games, etc.

Bottom Line: Samsung needs no introduction and as for the new Galaxy M52 5G, it offers a powerful processor, camera setup, and massive battery. The smartphone is definitely good for gaming and streaming content on the go. It is strong in the mid-range segment.
